Israeli government: diplomatic & security support

4–6/10

Evidence supports steps 4 through 6; it does not establish a single step.

Evidence, source & review dates

Evidence & assessment: The Albanese government kept diplomatic relations with Israel while, according to ABC News (14 Aug 2025), saying Australia had not supplied weapons or ammunition to Israel 'for at least the past five years'; a Defence review of pre-October 2023 export permits left 35 active, amended or lapsed 16 and kept 13 under review. Foreign Minister Penny Wong and the government sanctioned ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich in June 2025 with travel bans and asset freezes (ABC News, 11 Jun 2025). Australian-made F-35 components continue to enter the US-run global supply chain, which ministers describe as non-lethal parts. This combination of continued ties, targeted sanctions and limits on direct arms exports spans the 'restrict most arms transfers' to 'cooperation with targeted restrictions' steps.

Most statements on arms exports came from Defence Minister Richard Marles and Penny Wong rather than Albanese personally, and permit contents are not public. The Greens and human-rights groups dispute the government's description of F-35 parts as non-lethal; a Defence condition on direct exports of 'approved goods' to Israel, reported in November 2025 (Australian Greens release of 3 Nov 2025 citing The Nightly), was not independently verified. The range is wide because the actual scope of exports is unclear.

Reviewed sources that do not establish the position are labeled “Not established”; this is not a finding that the politician has no position. No cross-issue total is calculated. Rubric v1.

FOLLOW THE DISCLOSED MONEY

Who funds Anthony Albanese?

Campaign contributors and outside spending are separate. A donation does not establish control, a policy bargain or a payment to the politician personally.

FEC coverage does not apply to this country. Local campaign-finance sources must be researched separately. Missing data is not $0.

Israel-related funding: not verified. We do not treat a missing filing review as evidence that a politician received no money.

Reviewed 2026-10-30. Opened and read on 30 Oct 2026: Prime Minister's media releases and transcripts (pm.gov.au and PM Transcripts), Attorney-General's and Treasury ministers' releases, the Federal Register of Legislation, and reports and analysis from ABC News, The Guardian, The Conversation and the Australian Greens. The discovery tool returned only unrelated results (businesses and products named Anthony), so every source was chosen by hand. The coverage tool timed out this run. Reuters, OpenAustralia, the Australian Human Rights Commission and the health and education ministers' pages could not be opened (access denied or timed out) and were left out.
